Speaker Bio:

Mark Batterson serves as Lead Pastor of National Community Church (NCC) in Washington, D.C., recognized in 2008 by Outreach magazine as one of the 25 most innovative churches in America. As one church with nine services in five locations, NCC focuses on reaching emerging generations; approximately 70 percent of NCC regular attendees are single 20-somethings.
NCC’s vision is to be front and center in the marketplace, meeting in movie theatres at Metro stops throughout the D.C. area. The church held its first public service in the movie theaters at Union Station in November 1996. As part of that overarching vision, NCC also owns and operates Ebenezers, the largest coffeehouse on Capitol Hill and recognized in 2008 as the No. 1 coffeehouse in the metro area by AOL CityGuide.

Mark has two Masters Degrees from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago and is the author of several books, including the best-selling In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day: How to Survive and Thrive When Opportunity Roars; Wild Goose Chase: Rediscover the Adventure of Pursuing God and his newest release, Primal: A Quest for the Lost Soul of Christianity.
